Paramedics
The first time I ever had to call the paramedics was 8/13/1990, scary in moments of urgency it's hard put to remember your address or name, you are in warp time, brain racing, not being able to comprehend what is playing out.
Time really does speed and yet crawl simultaneously, at least for me.
I can never say enough good about the paramedics that have here, their assessments and moments taken to stabilize the person in need, makes time move slowly, and yet for the person in need is a necessary evil to be endured.
Following an ambulance is a bizarre time frame, too. Trying to drive sanely as they do, but your mind is not on the road.
Mainly, they get you to the hospital so other treatment can begin in life saving modes, sometime people win, and sometime we suffer a loss, you never know how it will finish until all has been tried.
We lost that particular battle the next morning which was 26 years ago, but still the gratitude is extended to those people who daily walk into another persons home to try and help them in the spirit of "time is of the essence."
Major thanks to the people working out in that field. Jimmy is one, and I am very proud of him for all he does.
