Belated Christmas of 2015
We all have something within us that triggers our own happiness to a fuller limit, for us it's our son.
Yesterday was Christmas for my side of the family, and it was enjoyable for many reasons.
We enjoy seeing our niece and nephews and their folks, little children we watched grow up now adults tending their own children, many comical moments, many magical moments children best bring into our days.
Besides some of our conversations shared to catch up with each others lives, I most enjoyed seeing my sons eyes shining with laughter and smiles as he played with the small children making faces to catch a reaction, and laughing when the toddlers would do something more outlandish, enjoying his cousins reactions to it all. Only a few short hours, but he did enjoy himself and still has much love for the cousins.
We oldsters have had a variety of life items to survive throughout the years, sometimes it makes us harder, sometimes we build an armor to protect ourselves and convince ourselves that we've hardened, spending time around the small children, and our own grown ones, reminds us that the magic matters, the field of dreams is still forming even within our grown children they have goals and landmarks they need to make happen.
So little ones see the magic and bask in it, grown children aspire to make their plans and dreams come to pass, and oldsters are softened by it for awhile pulled from their near slumber as most of their dreams have either been fullfilled or contained.
The magic of Christmas will always be best through the eyes of the children.
