Becoming intraverted

At the best a human hears and comprehends 60% of what is being said to them, it's due to the fact that as you speak, you lose them, they are already thinking about what they want to say back. Started to tell someone some real good news the other day, they cut me off and started in on their old chaotic theme-trapped in the revolving door, shit I snapped.  Don't remember my precise words but my brain was thinking... "No, sometimes it's finally about us!"

This particular conversation was between myself and semi family member from the larger family grouping we have on one side. Her lack of years lends to many opinions, she's at times like a cheerleader for negativity, time and life will no doubt possibly mellow her out, but this old girl doesn't feel like doing the dance anymore, middle age to approaching senior days can mellow you out, time and losses finish the job as you hold different things as important and worth while, worth working at.  Perhaps you shrug off more.

You work five long days (yes the days are feeling longer and harsher...lol) a week unlike this youngster, and in your spare time you clean, shop, do familial paperwork, and project out the future rounds (called "anticipation" in my old real estate world) so you're not shocked when they get here, you don't have time to jump on everyone's ass that makes a mistake in life, and you don't get to travel in a group of acquaintances who also share the ability to rip someone, instead of sowing seeds at a slower pace. I worry that they're moms, but that's another thought.

I think my tolerance just slipped, I am sure I will pay for the slip, but sometimes a person needs to stop and see some real beauty in life, to see what the treasures are, to STOP looking for flaws, start looking the real gift that is here.

And so you come home, at home you can be yourself. At home the values are still the same.
