"When was the last time, you ever saw the sunrise?" 4 hours and counting....
We humans have so many definitions of our own self worth, from the time we're young school aged children we let teachers define our worth, our friends define our worth, our families define our worth, everyone has a label to add to the mix, add to that one humans perspective on all the labels slapped onto them, and their own inner perception of who they are, and emerges a young adult struggling to get their own identity up and flying much as the butterfly emerges from the cocoon, drying off those saturated wings with gentle motion, taking in their surroundings until they're ready to fly free.
We grow, we educate, we learn a craft or vocation, we take pride in our achievements, and self admonish for our failures, and all the while people slap labels on us in our society, we allow some of that to shape us or our perspective of who we are, and our place in society.
Wrong, your young, you twenty, your thirty, hang straight, and keep the labels off.
Know yourself best.
You've got a teaching certificate, schools are hiring, the great teacher within you bides time working at other jobs to pay your bills and student loans until the road up ahead clears, and hiring starts again.
You've got a great background in corporate customer service, you've 10 years of supervisory experience in that corporate world, you hit 50 already, a very magic number out in Society*, you cannot get a job, you're over paid or over qualified or under educated, and you're too old. You've conducted interviews from a company hiring point of view, so you definitely can interview well on the flip side, but you are not hired. Six months later you luck out from a friend recommending you to
the Broker your old company used for their insurances. Did self worth take it's toll that time, did it take time to get it back into shape? Were you able to bounce off all the labels the unknowns tried to tape onto your personality, body shape, and age? So you've worked for a man 10 years older than you for the last 8 years, one solitary man and both your clocks are ticking, you have no idea when it all might reshape again, no one ever does, it's just another recessed thought to protect you from going into shock one day, a buffer. All the eggs in one basket?
We are each unique in our thinking, in where we place value on the ingredients in our life, some people value material treasures, stacking them in closets as they go, another person might value seeing all there is to see and experience through travel, and some of us have families, and within the families we learn who to value, no labels involved.
We remember who we were, and are, and along the way we remember each persons real worth, we're priceless.
